Summary:
The custom applicator position requires an individual with the flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and when the weather is ideal. Working safely is of utmost importance.
ACCOUNTING DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the operation and maintenance of all company owned or leased application equipment
- Operate all equipment safely and accurately
- Responsible for the regular upkeep and maintenance of all application equipment at the regular intervals designated by the equipment manufacturer
- Responsible for accurately applying the required amount of product to assigned fields as designated by generated custom application sheets
- Responsible for determining if conditions are acceptable for spraying and mitigating drift to surround susceptible vegetation
- Accurately record spray conditions on custom application logs (wind speed, direction, nozzle pressure, nozzle spacing, start time, end time, start date, end date)
- Expected to be in the field seven days a week if weather conditions permit application of products
- Comply with the Garden City Co-op Safety and Compliance Manual
- Comply with the Garden City Co-op Employee Manual
SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
- Obtain and maintain a Class A CDL with tanker and HAZMAT endorsements
- Obtain and maintain a Kansas Commercial Pesticide Applicators License
- Paying attention to detail and maintaining accuracy.
- Patience and adaptability.
- Customer service orientation.
- Superior numeric skills to calculate application rates in ounces, pints, gallons, etc.
- Knowledge of office procedure and etiquette.
- Use of internet, email, and provided software
