The house is for sale and not for rent or rent-to-own.

Construction of the former church building began in 1915 and was completed in 1916.  While not built in any one specific architectural style, the house exhibits Colonial Revival, Gothic Revival and Arts and Crafts influences.  During the six-year renovation process all extant historic material was retained; only subsequent alterations were removed.  New work was made to duplicate existing precedent.  Numerous stained glass windows, removed by a previous owner, were acquired and restored to their original locations.

The former fellowship hall (lower level) was given a renovation in the 1950's - the beautiful knotty pine paneling installed then makes for a very retro recreation room or enviable man cave.  The master bedroom was created from an old addition made decades ago; as a result it features two brick walls which originally were part of the exterior.  The master bedroom also includes a skylight, two spacious closets, a functioning antique wood stove, and access to a small, private, outdoor deck.  The subway-tiled master bathroom includes a barrel-vaulted shower.  An ideal home for a large family or those who like to entertain - the versatile floor plan allows for flexibility of use.  It can be a cozy retreat for a couple yet is large enough to facilitate an extended family or mother-in-law's quarters.

Located on a tree-lined residential street, the house located at 100 North York Avenue is just 2 blocks from downtown Oberlin making it ideal for a home-based business.  Oberlin is fortunate to have a diverse stock of vintage real estate, with the Arts and Crafts era being particularly well represented.  Late Victorian and Edwardian-era houses are also found here, in addition to numerous examples of mid-century modern architecture. Oberlin's small town atmosphere and rural setting make a stark contrast to more densely-populated towns which are increasingly non-descript and corporate in character.
