GENERAL MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR TECHNICIAN (192)
Kansas Wetlands Education Center, 592 NE K-156 Hwy., Great Bend, KS 67530

Performs semi‐skilled work relating to building and grounds maintenance. Work may provide assistance to skilled or highly skilled positions in one or more of the skilled craft areas.

Tasks: To be performed at Kansas Wetlands Education Center, Bunkhouse/Lab and Picnic Shelter located near Great Bend, KS

• Performs light building maintenance such as light bulb/ballast replacement, painting, replacing ceiling tile, minor plumbing repairs and HVAC monitoring.
• Performs all general custodial duties as needed (dusting, mopping, disinfecting, restrooms, cleaning glass, vacuuming, emptying trash, etc.)
• Services and repairs custodial equipment.
• Assembles classroom and office furniture.
• Moves furniture within buildings.
• Assists in setups and tear downs for University events.
• Monitors inventory supplies in assigned areas.
• Responds to building emergencies such as water leaks.
• Provides security by ensuring facility is secured at the end of shift.
• Removes snow from building entrances.
• Performs light grounds maintenance around the facility.
• Checks emergency equipment (fire extinguishers and emergency lights) monthly.

Shift: 11:30 AM – 8:00 PM Tuesday through Saturday

Minimum Requirements:
High School diploma or GED equivalency. Two years of experience in a skilled craft area. Associate’s degree or vocational school certification may be substituted for one year of the required experience. Custodial experience is preferred.

Salary/Benefits: $11.51 per hour, plus $0.30 per hour for shift differential, plus benefits
