The Service Extension Department of The Salvation Army is accepting application for a Kettle Coordinator (with the potential to move into County Coordinator) in Ellis Co KS.  This is a part time position from Jan to Sept and full time in Oct to Dec for the bell ringing season.  

Job Duties will include (are not limited to)

1.    Reception Duties –
       A.    Answer phone 
       B.    Interview clients, donors, and general public
       C.    Handle all in coming and out going mail.
       D.    Set appointments
2.    Client Record keeping
       A. Interview & do intakes on all assistance request.
       B. Record all client activity in MACCLink
       C. Create client files
       D. Record all client up-dates such as but not limited to (name changes, address change, new family members, etc.)
3.   Miscellaneous job duties –  including seasonal programs which include but is not limited to:
      A.    Track monthly referrals to other agencies
      B.    Complete monthly statistical report and send in by the 1st of each month.
      C.    Act as a liaison between The Salvation Army and the local  community within other agencies, Chambers, etc. 
      E.    Attend  events as needed/required (Chamber of Commerce...ect)
      F.    Responsible for recruitment, orientation, supervision of volunteers  and Advisory Council members to help carry out the work of The Salvation Army in the community
      G.    Attend community meeting as needed/required .

 

SEASONAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITY:  (F/T 40 hrs per wk.  Oct. – Dec. 30)

    Kettle Coordinator

•    Assist in the hiring and training of kettle workers.
•    Complete volunteer form for all volunteers.
•    According to how many paid workers/volunteers are available, determine where workers will be stationed for the day.
•    Periodically check on the kettle workers to see that they are properly performing their job duties.
•    Verify hours worked by kettle workers and sign off on those hours before they are processed by payroll.
•    Contact and cultivate local businesses as on-going and potential bell ringing sites.
•    Develop new sources of volunteers through contacts with churches, civic organizations, and businesses throughout the county area.
•    Inventory all bell ringing equipment prior to the start of the Christmas season, repairing and/or replacing as needed throughout the season.
•    See that kettles arrive to scheduled location on time for  workers/volunteers and picked up in a timely manner.
•    Organize the delivery of kettle stands to designated sites prior to the first day of the Christmas season and see they are picked up at the end of the season.
•    Conduct nightly kettle deposits 
•    Coordinate with the designated depository, developing a system of handling each day’s receipts in an efficient and secure manner and provide daily accounting of funds raised, individual and site statistics.
