The City of Hays is looking for Full Time & Part Time Police Officers to join its team. This hands-on & rewarding position protects the life & property of the citizens of Hays by enforcing federal, state, & local laws.

Aptitude and physical tests will be conducted as well as extensive background investigations. Applicants will receive more information about the testing process when the next test date is scheduled. Job offers contingent on pre-employment psychological evaluation, physical exam & drug screening.

Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen & at least 21 years of age with no felony convictions. Valid Kansas driver’s license & High School Degree or GED required with a technical degree or college degree preferred. The ideal candidate has excellent written & verbal communications skills. KLETC Certification preferred.  For Full Time, all Police Officers are required to live within the 3-mile planning district of the City of Hays within 180 days of employment.
