HAYS POLICE DEPARTMENT

The City of Hays is looking for Full Time Police Officers to join its team. This hands-on & rewarding position protects the life & property of the citizens of Hays by enforcing federal, state, & local laws.

REQUIREMENTS

• Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen & at least 21 years of age with no felony convictions.
• Valid driver’s license & High School Degree or GED required with a technical degree or college degree preferred.
• The ideal candidate has excellent written & verbal communications skills.
• KLETC Certification preferred but not required. 
• All Police Officers are required to live within the 3-mile planning district of the City of Hays within 180 days of employment.

Job offers contingent on pre-employment psychological evaluation, physical exam & drug screening.

COMPENSATIONS & BENEFITS

Base pay range: $38,342 - $59,900. Placement depends on experience & certification. The City of Hays offers great benefits including Health Insurance, paid time off, KP&F retirement & holidays.

Aptitude and Physical Test Dates

Test dates for this year are set for April 1 & July 22. Interested applicants must attend one of these test dates after completing their online application in order to continue on in the hiring process. Applicants will receive more information about the testing process after the application is received.
