The Fort Hays State University Foundation seeks a Director of Development who will prepare and execute strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift prospects (individuals, corporations, and foundations) as part of FHSU’s Journey fundraising campaign. As an integral member of the relationship manager team, this position is responsible for raising endowment, capital, and other financial support to meet the funding needs of FHSU. The position will work closely with the President/CEO of the Foundation, the development and planned giving team, as well as FHSU faculty, alumni, and other key constituents. The Foundation is the fundraising arm of FHSU, which raises and manages all private funds in support of the university.
 

A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of one year of professional fundraising experience, or appropriate related experience, is required.

Applicant must be a self-starter and have the ability to interact in a professional manner that instills confidence in FHSU and the Foundation. Excellent writing, listening, and speaking skills are required, as well as organizational skills, ability to manage a budget, computer competence, and willingness to travel extensively.
