Description

Colby Community College is accepting applications for a full-time Physics/Physical Science instructor. This nine-month position begins in August 2017. The ideal candidate will be comfortable teaching courses to include some combination of University Physics, College Physics, Statics, Geology, and Astronomy.  Weekend, evening and online teaching may be required.

Candidate should establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, administrators, and faculty. In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will assess student learning and application of course objectives and competencies, along with designing, developing, and maintaining course curriculum.  Participation in various professional activities, such as actively serving on program advisory committees with area businesses, recruiting and advising students is expected.  Must understand the importance of technology, integrity, innovative thinking, and ability to work as a team to increase enrollment in a rural setting.  

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in physics, or a master’s degree in a related field with 18 graduate credits in physics required. 
  • Higher education teaching experience preferred. 

SALARY
Upper 30s, depending on credentials.
