Location of employment:    23rd Judicial District, Ellis Co. District Court
                                                Courthouse, 107 West 12th St., Hays, KS 

Classification & Grade:     Trial Court Clerk II 
                                             Grade 13/A - Starting salary: $11.80 per hr.,
                                             Full-time, Includes benefits
                                             Position available immediately

Job Duties:    Responsibilities will include learning all facets of the District Court Office. This position performs a variety of major court clerical functions Including but not limited to: File and record pleadings regarding cases; data entry; set hearings and maintain calendar; receipt and disburse monies; assist in preparation of court docket; complete judicial reports; provide information and assistance to judiciary, members of the bar, law enforcement agencies, DCF and the public by phone or in person. Applicant must perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Clerk of the District Court. This position also requires attention to detail, excellent customer service skills and involves working closely with the public and handling money

Required Education:         Graduation from high school.

Knowledge, Abilities & Skills:    Knowledge of modern office management practices, and procedures, ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, ability to understand court procedures and policies, skills in the operating of office equipment, must have good customer service skills, confidentiality, courteous, professional and cooperative.
