Homemade Berkey Water Filter. We purchased two good quality five gallon stainless steel stock pots and a stainless steel beverage dispenser, as well as two name-brand Berkey water filters. My husband drilled the holes and set it all up. It works great. We were most pleased with it. Then we moved out in the country and our water is terrible -- too terrible for the Berkey to handle. But for Hays city water, it did an excellent job. Keep in mind these filters were $100 alone and only used for about three months. Everything has been well cared for and cleaned regularly as per Berkey instructions. Great deal here. A full Berkey water dispenser this size would cost you three times this much!
