The 1861 has a round barrel and features a 6-shot cylinder, fixed sights and a 1-piece walnut grip.  Features a Kirst Cartridge Converter. These are Gated Konverters so with the Frame Modification (Opening the Recoil Shield) you can Load and Unload with The Konverter Installed. The Conversion is to .38LC. Milled and with blued Ejector for Colt Style 1861 Navy. 

The chambers will actually accept .38 Special hollow base wad cutter cartridges; however the cylinder is too short and is not intended for use of the standard .38 Special cartridge. The cylinder has been made this way so that the shooter can use commercially loaded hollow base, soft lead bullet ammunition, it is not intended for the standard .38 Special cartridge.
