Fleet Technician

 

EGE, a southwest Kansas growing business with excellent work environment and top of the market compensation, is looking for a Fleet Technician to join our team! We are looking for a proficient diagnostic technician to commit to the fleet in maintaining, diagnosing and repairing any and all systems. The fleet includes semi’s, pick-up trucks, forklifts, skid steer, tractors, combines, and/or other pieces of heavy equipment. The ideal mechanic will be able to to trouble shoot hydraulic, electrical and diesel systems on site properly, engage with operators, and communicate effectively with the team on a daily basis. Preferred previous field service experience. 

  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
  • Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSA regulations for safe working procedures.
  • Analyze malfunctions and repairs, rebuild and maintain equipment including heavy construction equipment.
  • Operate and inspect machines and equipment to diagnose defects.
  • Dismantle and reassemble equipment.
  • Examine parts for damage or excessive wear.
  • Replace defective engines and sub-assemblies, such as transmissions, electric motors, drums, seals, hydraulic pumps, valves, pistons, rods, gears, etc.
  • Test overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
  • Perform record keeping of time and parts used on the appropriate forms.
  • Plan work procedures and / or possible solutions such as part redesign, substitution of material or parts and rearrangement of parts or sub-assemblies.
  • Perform general cleaning of work areas and maintenance areas.
  • Assist other maintenance department staff in performing the duties necessary to assure the efficiency of operations of equipment / vehicles.
  • Lift, carry and hold materials, tools and supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

  • Ideal candidate would have a college or technical degree.
  • Extensive experience in truck and / or heavy equipment maintenance and repair, including diesels, hydraulic systems and electrical systems.
