HaysMed is a beautiful campus with a mission "to Help People Be Healthy."  We are part of the University of Kansas Health System and are a 207-bed facility that provides acute and pediatric care along with cardiac, neonatal and intensive care units; cancer, joint and spine care, diagnostic imaging and eye surgery center; emergency department including Level III trauma services and a sexual assault response team (SART) , rehabilitation and hospice. HaysMed also maintains a Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center, Sleep and Neurodiagnostic services and Robotic Surgery Program.

Ultrasound Techs (PRN)

POSITION SUMMARY: Independently performs ultrasound examinations using specialized equipment; performs some invasive patient procedures; reviews studies for overall quality; uses professional judgment and critical thinking to prepare technical impressions on studies submitted to radiologist/cardiologist for interpretation; and performs record keeping and computerized image archiving.

Education/Experience: Graduated from accredited Radiological Technologist Program and a graduate of an ultrasound program preferred or a graduate of an ultrasound program or graduate of an accredited Radiological Technologist Program with on-the-job ultrasound training or certified in ultrasound obtained through on-the-job training.

Certificates and Licenses: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with a specialty in abdomen or OB/GYN or a registered vascular technologist (RVT) or registered diagnostic cardiac sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS (requiring one of the three credentials) preferred; or registered ARRT (R) (S) or registered vascular technologist (RVT) or registered diagnostic cardiac sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS (requiring one of the three credentials); or ARDMS board-eligible; or ARDCS board-eligible; or ARRT (S) board-eligible; additional requirements as listed in official job posting.
