Agricultural Technician II for Wheat Research

This position will be conducting research for a wheat breeding program. The major responsibilities of this position are: seed preparation for field and greenhouse research, machinery operation to plant, manage, and harvest research plots in the field, greenhouse management and conducting lab experiments, notetaking for research plots and assistance in making field books. Three years of general farming experience including equipment operation (combines, tractors, trucks, sprayers, planters) and preventive maintenance preferred. Computer operation needed for data enter and making field books. Experience in conducting field, greenhouse, and lab experiments. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing and keep accurate records highly desired. Bachelor's of Science in Agriculture preferred. Valid driver license needed upon employment. Must be able to obtain a restricted-use pesticides applicator license within six months of employment. Physical exertion-considerable to transport in excess of 50 lbs but no more than 100 lbs unassisted on a regular basis.
