Smith County Memorial Hospital is looking for the right candidate to join our patient accounts team to perform accounts receivable duties. The position requires excellent customer service skills, the ability to communicate effectively with patients and work well within a team. Experience with insurance claims processing and medical billing preferred. This position coordinates all claims processing, follow up, denials, correspondence and collections activities for commercial insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, workers comp and self-pay. S/he will take patient phone calls to include taking payments over the phone, work specialized reports to make sure accounts are billed timely and accurately, answer patient questions regarding billing and any other duties necessary to process accounts accurately. As a member of the patient accounts team, this role will be cross-trained in front-lines duties to help answer phones, register patients, make appointments, respond to patient inquiries and generally create a positive experience for patients and guests.
