The purpose of this position is to serve as Medical Director of Larned State Hospital. The Medical Director must be able to demonstrate the knowledge of skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served at Larned State Hospital (which includes adult male/female patients). The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the Unit policies and procedures. This position is subject to the mission statement of the hospital and maintaining an environment which is conducive to fulfilling the hospital mission. This individual is an active part of all natural work teams and is to identify, define, question, and present alternative plans of action in areas of work identified in need of improvement and to provide quality customer service.
Special Qualifications/Education: Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Kansas. CPR/AED and MANDT Certification.
Preferred Education or Experience: Seven (7) years minimum experience in Clinical area including three (3) years administrative work. Residency and Board eligibility in Psychiatry.
