Safety and Security Property Officer position. Primary duties include but not limited to: •Ensures the safety of patients, staff and visitors by searching, inventorying, and marking approved property to avoid introduction of contraband and to safeguard patient possessions. •Marks property via LSH approved procedures and maintains inventory of patient property. •Checks packages and/or mail for contraband in the presence of patient/resident to ensure safety and security. •Completes paperwork as per policy to maintain proper inventory, to document condemned property, and disposition of property. •Receives patient admissions and processes patient and/or property utilizing Program and agency policy. •Responds to patient requests for property. •Manages storage of patient property and ensures proper storage of property (including property limits) and complies with KDHE, EOC standards, and Fire Codes. •Assists patient in mailing property or preparing for family pick up of property. •Prepares patient property for transfer and/or discharge, inventorying and documenting disposition of property; assisting with discharges as per Program policy. •Orders and stocks clothing for patients, filling orders as necessary through supply and laundry. •Works in cooperation with laundry staff, KDOC, Program Director, Treatment Teams, Shift and Unit Leaders, as well as others as necessary to manage issues related to property and clothing within the assigned Program Submit application, high school diploma or GED, valid unrestricted drivers license and tax clearance certificate before 5:00 p.m. Friday, January 16. Your application will be considered incomplete and you may be found ineligible if you fail to submit all required documentation Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Special Qualifications/Education: Valid unrestricted Kansas driver’s license. MANDT & First Aid/CPR/AED Certification. Must be able to demonstrate SCBA and Bunker Gear proficiency and completed Department of Corrections training within the first 6 months of employment. Some positions require an approved drug test unless the incumbent is moving from one safety-sensitive position to another safety-sensitive position within the same agency performing substantially similar duties. Preferred Education or Experience: Prefer one year experience in one or more of the following: corrections, security, mental health services, law enforcement and fire protection related skills.
