This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and operation of the physical plant and grounds, specifically the HVAC system, and in a manner which provides a safe and therapeutic environment for the quality care of all agency customers. Supervisory duties include: Responsible for employee evaluations, schedules daily activities to assure compatibility between departments, schedules weekly Refrigeration & AC. department meetings, maintains department records for timekeeping, maintains inmate labor time sheets, schedules daily employee and inmate labor activities, provides in-service training to department employees. Repair and Maintain large tonnage air conditioners, chillers and condensing units, air handlers, walk-in freezers/coolers, electric controls, pneumatic controls, Microprocessors, control air compressors, residential furnaces, residential air conditioners, dampers, blower motors and boilers/environmental controls. Preventive Maintenance includes fan coil units, air handling units, unit heaters, boilers for environmental control, H/C circulating pump motors, chill water mixing valves, AHU control exhaust fans, air compressors, air dryers, walk-in freezer/cooler, ice machines, and other assigned pm’s. Assures all Refrigeration & A.C. equipment is protected by the LSH Prev. Maint. Program. Specialist Requirements: Valid unrestricted Kansas Driver’s license. Federal Universal Certification - required by the Environmental Protection Agency to maintain, service, dispose, or repair equipment containing CFC’s, HCFC’s, and HFC’s.
