Brown Slag Basket Vintage Westmoreland Paneled Grape
Description
Westmoreland Glass Co. only produced slag glass (they called it marble) 1972 through 1979. This lovely brown slag Split Handled Oval Basket is in the Paneled Grape pattern (mould #PG-86) was made between 1975 and 1976. It is marked in the mould with the factory's stacked WG logo on the bottom.
The footed basket is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The exterior sides of the basket are decorated with the pretty Paneled Grape design, and the handles have a wood grain pattern.
The basket is about 6-1/2” long and stands 4” tall. Some slag pieces have more color to them than others, with some coming close to milk glass. As you can see in the photos, the glass in this basket is richly colored with multiple shades of brown swirling through the basket. Outstanding!
