Description

This pretty little china watering can is decorated with a generous bouquet of applied flowers on the front side. It is trimmed with a shiny gold on the rim, handle and spout. It measures just over 3" from end of the handle to the tip of the spout; it is 2-3/4" tall.

This watering can is in very good vintage condition with no chips or cracks. There is wear to the paint and gold accent trim, which can be seen in the photos. The remnants of a sticker can be round on the bottom, along with a black ink stamp: "Made in Occupied Japan.” The Occupied Japan mark dates the piece to the 1940s or '50s during the time period when Japan was occupied by the Allied contingent following World War II. Items made for export between 1945 and 1952 were required to be marked "Occupied Japan" or "Made in Occupied Japan." Japan turned millions of decorative items for export.
