Classic 1970 Orange Plymouth Duster 340 Hemi Engine
Classic cars in excellent condition are getting harder and harder to find. If you crave perfection, but don't have the time it takes to restore a vintage gem, this is the car for you. This 1970 Plymouth Duster is very rare. It has the 340 engine, and it is painted that in-your-face Hemi orange that screams 1970s muscle car. Manufactured at the Chrysler plan in Hamtramck, Michigan, it is a true 1970 340 Duster, which you can verify on the engine department plaque. All of the component numbers match.
On the inside you'll fine black vinyl bucket seats in the front and a bench seat in back. The dashboard features sport instruments with the rare matching trim package; all of the gauges are in good working order. This Duster has its original factory options with these few exceptions:
- 3-speed stick was changed to a 4-speed stick
- Performance headers added
- Traction bars
- Rims are after market
- After market rear speakers
- Tinted side windows
You just don't see many 340 Dusters around in this condition and color. In preparation for this listing, it's been fully serviced and checked out top to bottom. Knop's Performance Auto put in a new battery and new rear differential seal -- the old one dried out and was leaking a little grease. As you can see in the photos, the trunk is clean. There is a dime size bubble of rust under the paint below the driver's door, which is about a $300 fix. The Duster 340 got its beautiful paint job in 2001, along with a totally new interior. It's been in the man-cave shed ever since, which is a cryin' shame. Someone should be draggin' Main on a Friday night and entering it in car shows. That someone is you, right?
