The battery did not survive winter, I am looking to replace the battery but would sell as in at a reduced cost. I belive that battery currently will run the bike but it will not start it, I am willing to boost the bike for anyone interested in looking at it.
I have owned this bike for just over a year and am only selling because my interest have changed. This was my first bike after a long break from riding, I bought it because it was light, nimble, and ran great. She still runs great and has tons of life left in her.
The downs:
There is a short in the running light circuit, I can't track it down and it will probably need the harness opened up and new lead ran. I am fairly certain it is in the main harness under the tank but I have not taken the time to dig in. It is also ready for a fork re-seal and an oil change. I put tires on when I bought it a year ago, the front is good for at least another season, the rear should be swapped out.
The Ups:
What can I say, I have never been more satisfied with a vehicle purchase. I bought it from a gentlemen in Concordia who had not rode it for several years and was not sure if it even ran. I put some gas and battery in it and it fired right up. I took it around the block and handed him cash for it. It has always ran like a top and for a 550 it has plenty of pull to set my 240Lb. butt back on the seat. I installed the aftermarket lights (electrical issues existed prior to lights being installed) a few months back and the windscreen is just over a year old. I have ridden this bike daily to work through the spring and summer, 64 miles round trip and I can get about 130 miles out of a tank (maybe a little more but that is two days commuting). I get about 43MPG on average, a little better on a fresh oil change.
Current milage: Just rolled over 18,000 Monday September 8th, the bike has not been ridden extensively since late September due to needing a rear tire.
Trades considered:
I am also looking for parts for my '88 Bronco (Full size):
-EFI 351w (5.8) engine with intake, all accessories, and flexplate. needs to be a good running , ready to drop in engine!
-Fold forward Bucket seats. Ford preferred for ease of install, but all will be considered. Fabric does not matter, color does not matter, needs to be in good condition though.
-I would also trade for the contrustruction and installation of a Rollcage. I am looking for a complete "Family" cage with some embelishments. I am perfectly happy to do the final weld up but I need someone to bend and fit the entire cage for me. It would be a body only cage (no frame tie in) and I could also have the mount plates ready.
Any of these items alone would be accepted as partial trade with cash. combined items would be a combined price, if someone had all of this I would do a even trade.
I am am open to other items, but mostly stuff that can be added to this truck. I would also consider another bike, but it would have to be something like a Goldwing or a Cavalcade, large displacement and cargo.
