Hello. Up for sale is a 1993 Gehl 170 grinder/mixer with scale and 1000 small pto. We tested the scale and weigh bars and they work. You are welcome to ask questions or come and look at it because the story behind this machine sounds too good to be true...but it is! This mixer was purchased new in the spring of 1993. In the fall of '93 the hogs were sold and this unit has been in the machinery shed ever since. This mixer was used for approximately 6 months, it is in near new condition. The "money" shot is the picture of the hammer. The hammers are the original hammers that have never been turned. You can see how much wear it has on the tip of the upper left corner, essentially none. The only flaw I can notice is on the back of the tub. It looks like someone brushed up against something and a few spots of paint are missing, a picture is included (the last picture). This unit is clean, straight, has been stored inside and should be ready to give its new owner a lot of work for a long time. The operator's manual for the mixer and for the scale are included.

I called Arts-Way to price a new unit. The closest unit they have is a 140 bushel model (the Gehl 170 is 135 bushels). Their list price is $46,000 and the representative told me he has seen them advertised for $37,000. However, if you are looking for a nice grinder/mixer you probably already know that.

Tractorhouse has a Gehl 170 listed for $18,500 and it doesn't have a scale (and it has more wear). Machinery Pete reports a recent sale @ $18,000. For the person who knows what these are worth and who is looking for an excellent used machine I suggest you won't find one better. I have priced this unit to be a "best buy" compared to what is available used, and especially compared to new.
