Description

Gods Blessing Farm LLC in Niota TN (37826 for Mapquest) now has rare Chinese Meishan Pig piglet breeding pairs available. Meishan pigs originate from the Taihu region of China where they have been domesticating pigs for over 5000 years. Meishans may be the oldest heritage breed of pig still available today. Meishan pigs are ideally suited for homestead and small holder operations. Meishan pigs are the rarest livestock swine in the United States. Imported in 1989 for study at Iowa State University, University of Illinois and The U.S.D.A. Meat Animal Research Center. They have not been readily available to farmers until recently. Gods Blessing Farm has the largest and most genetically diverse herd on Meishan Pigs outside of China. We are the only breeding farm to receive pigs from the University of Illinois and USDA herds. Meishans are a medium sized pig with a maximum size of 300-350lbs. However our bloodlines  typically reach a size of 250 lbs within 9-10 months. Meishans are a lard carcass hog and have incredibly tender and flavorful micro marbled red meat pork. Meishans are extremely docile. They have the lowest environmental impact(rooting) of any breed . Meishans are also hyper productive featuring some of the largest litters of any hog by their third parity. One of our sows just farrowed 20 piglets and 14+ are not uncommon.

Our stock is 100% foundation stock as defined by the American Meishan Breeders Association. This is not highly inbred “graded up” examples of the breed. These piglets were from 3 different sows bred to three different boars.  Our current piglets have just been weaned and are ready for pickup. We also can ship piglet pairs via Delta Airlines. Typically, you should budget $450 for freight when air shipping a pair.

Our Pricing is as follows. Single piglets (regardless of sex )$1200, Breeding pairs $1100 each. Three or more $1000 each. We may have a limited amount of castrated boars as feeder piglets for $125 each.
