This metal bed is orginal with no modifications.  This metal bed would be ideal for a restoration project that requires an original, time period piece of furniture.  Includes original headboard, footboard, frame and spring.  The matteress has long been gone and now belongs to the ages.  The width (53") would be a full size, but the length (69 1/2") would be a little shorter than full size.  The legs are built into the headboard and the footboard and not on the frame itself, thus it would required some modification to be used on a modern foundation/mattess or box spring/mattress set up. One could use only the headboard or footboard and drill holes for it to attach to a modern day frame, if you know what you are doing. We did not modify it so that it stayed in it's orginal condition.
