Barton Community College is seeking applications for a Temporary Employee position for the Barton County Upward Bound Program.  This position will be specifically working during the five-week summer residential program from May 31 through July 16th. Responsibilities include supervising approximately 40 high school students on the Barton campus.  Employees must be able to assist teachers, assist Upward Bound staff during field trips including driving a 15 passenger van, and serve as positive role models.  Duties also include supervising participants in a group living and academic environment, facilitating conflict resolution, addressing disciplinary problems, and assisting the Upward Bound staff during evening activities.  The position involves working long hours including evenings and Sunday with culturally and socio-economically diverse high school students of varying academic abilities.  Qualifications:  Applicant must possess a valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check; completion of sophomore year of college preferred; GPA of 3.0 required.
