      The Kansas Department of Transportation is looking for dependable, trainable, team players with good communication skills to become part of our family.  KDOT is currently hiring an Engineering Technician Associate (Unclass) in Oakley, KS.  Starting pay is $15.75/hour. This position is subject to pre-employment physical and drug testing and selected candidate will need to pass testing as a condition of employment in this position.

 

      Position Duties & Responsibilities-Work involves performing several basic engineering and mathematical procedures which require following instructions and guidelines and providing accurate and complete records of that work.  Performs or assists other technicians or engineers in the performance of routine engineering tests in the laboratory or field or inspection on construction projects for compliance with standard practice, specifications, plans and special provisions.  Includes such things as performing or assisting in testing of gradations of aggregates and other standard tests.

 

     On-the-job training is provided to obtain a CDL within ninety days.  An annual $250 Personal Protection Equipment allowance is available.  Health insurance including dental and vision insurance are provided at a minimal cost.  Other benefits include vacation, sick and parental leave.  Valid unrestricted driver’s license is required at the time of hire.
