Valley Hope has an exciting opportunity for a System Security Manager to join our dedicated team! This is an on-site position that will office out of Norton, KS or Kansas City, MO.

  • Starting Salary: $69,000 - $85,000 (based on education/experience and location)

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Responsible for develop, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s server systems, security program and security strategy based on current regulatory standards and developments (HIPAA, NIST, etc), as well as the emerging cyber threat landscape.
  • Establish annual, long-range security and compliance goals; define security strategies, metrics, reporting mechanisms, and program services; and create maturity models and a roadmap for continual program improvements.
  • Leads assigned internal projects that improves the IS Dept operations and resolve organizational security issues. Leads teams in the discovery, design, implementation, and timely completion of the projects including customer support, maintenance, and training.
  • Manages the provision of IS Dept systems and security teams including: Network Security Analysts, Systems Administrations; and Networks and Telecommunication services.
  • Assist with day-to-day Information Security activities including monitoring, compliance and standardization.
  • Identify new security threats and vulnerabilities, issue security alerts, create contingency plans and enforce security awareness training, etc.
  • Respond immediately to security-related incidents, provide thorough post-event analysis, and ascertain whether additional safeguards are needed.
  • Assist in defining, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and standards including Business Continuity Plans, disaster recovery plans, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure that system recovery processes are monitored to ensure that security features and procedures are properly restored.
  • Leverage best practices to ensure all vendors, contractors and consultants are aligned with Valley Hope’s security strategies.
  • Identifies and informs Director of IS of critical issues, provides reports on time, recommends best practices, and opportunities for technical improvements.
  • Supervises staff including hiring, training, and providing performance review.  Provides routine performance feedback, ongoing leadership, and mentoring in support of staff development.
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient and employee data.
  •  Must be able to travel – estimated at 15% of the time.

 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

Education & Experience:

Required

  • Associate’s degree in computer science, information system management, information technology, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Three (3) plus years of work experience in computer‐systems related discipline or equivalent professional/academic training (with related certification program).
  • Three (3) plus years of cyber security experience.
  • One (1) plus years of experience in leadership role.
  • Prior work in customer service/customer satisfaction services.
  • Advance understanding of information technology systems including end‐user computing devices, software, applications, server and network systems.

Preferred:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information system management, information technology, cyber security, or other related fields.
  • Eight (8) plus years of work experience in computer‐systems related discipline.
  • Three (3) plus years of supervisory/management experience.

  • Ability to work with staff with lesser technical skills to resolve questions and issues.
  • Knowledge and understanding of network, systems/endpoints, application, data protection issues, and security risks.
  • Proven skills in implementing, administering, and troubleshooting information systems, hardware, security tools/measures, and database services.
  • Ability to articulate technical issues to non-technical management in a way that is understandable.
  • Ability to think critically, to evaluate, and to solve complex technical problems.
  • Stays current with technology, industry trends, and shares knowledge with the team.
  • Advanced computer skills. Proficient in MS Office applications, which include Outlook, Word, and Excel.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:  

  • Office setting with traditional hours, must be available after hours as needed for technical support, systems, and networking emergencies.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time up.
  • Must be able to work at a rapid pace for long periods of time.
  • Able to lift and carry at least 30 pounds.
  • Able to push, pull, pull up, bend at the knees and waist, twist body at the waist, raise and hold arms overhead, turn head-neck-shoulders as needed, grasp other items with hands, for either extended periods of time or many times throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to travel – estimated at 15% of the time.
