Cool 17.5 gallon surplus container from 1963 for storing water in bomb shelters. Stands about 2.5 feet tall -- knee high. Maker is Rheem for Civil Defense. Color is olive drab army green with yellow lettering. As a barrel it was intended for the dual purposes of storing water and then serving as waste storage. I have the lid too.
