Description

JEM Farms is so excited to be offering 22 bottle calves! Wow the number of calves we have offered this year continue to rise! This group of calves is an outstanding opportunity! These calves came straight off the dairy this morning. My requirements are high when it comes to the calves I choose to offer to the public. This dairy has extremely clean pens with fresh straw put down each day, a solid vaccination program, and three feedings of colostrum directly from the cow! Each calf is vaccinated with Multimin, Vision 7 Clostridial vaccination at birth, and a first defense bolus with their first colostrum feeding. I will personally do my vaccines of enforce 3 and Enroflex (I usually do Bose as well but the Multimin from the dairy contains more minerals and vitamins and it takes the place of Bose *10). Before transport, the dairy fed every calf a bottle of electrolytes for the trip to JEM Farms. All these calves’ range in age from 5 days old to 12 days old. All these calves are being offered 100% healthy, with no scours, no cough, no runny nose, and full of energy! I walked out to calf pen with 22 full bottles of Land Of Lakes Milk replacer Amplifier Max formula and every single one of the bottles were sucked dry and empty. Every single calf has an awesome suck reflex and ate aggressively on the bottle. Each one was vaccinated this evening with inforce 3 and Enroflux.

I have 20 crossbreds and 2 full jerseys. 6 heifers and the rest bulls. I can band the bulls and vaccinate with ultrabac 7 with tetanus if anyone would like them to be banded before they leave for a $25 dollar fee. These calves are thick and average a weight of 85 pounds apiece and of course some of them are bigger. They are Charolais crossed with jersey. Some of the redder tinted ones have some Swedish Red influence from the dams. These calves truly take after the body of a Charolais. They are built right and thick unlike a regular jersey calf. This would be an excellent opportunity to get some feeding steers! Put them on some high protein milk replacer for 60 days and you have yourself a calf ready for grass! They would be some great meat producers which I plan on doing if any of these guys end of being here too long!

If you are wondering where you can find the best milk replacer for this breed of calves…well look no further, I just got a pallet the Amplifier Max today! I usually use Atwood’s brand of Country Companion but when I went to buy my normal 20 bags they were totally cleaned out and did not know when to expect the next shipment. I have officially switched over to Land of Lakes as I find after tedious research that it produces the best quality of calves! I am offering this for sale as well if anyone wants to get calves, milk replacer, and bottles all in one place and not run around to several places trying to find exactly what you need. One bag of milk replacer will cost $125. It is stored in a waterproof area to keep it fresh as well.

IT IS FIRST COME FIRST SERVE!! If you want to hold a calf, then you need to pay half down to do so. I am also charging 10 dollars a day a calf to hold if you decide you cannot pick up until weekend. For example, if you picked out your calf on Wednesday and wanted to get it Thursday there is no charge but after that every day after is 10 dollars a day. These guys are already on my Land Of Lakes milk replacer and it higher quality and more expensive than the stuff at Tractor Supply but you get what you pay for! If you want to hold a calf, get a hold of me ASAP!

There is a picture of each calf down below with prices and more info on them. I have also tagged them with my hand made Diamond tags that has my brand on the back as well. This is showing that if none of these sell, they will be staying here to be grass calves come summer. That’s how outstanding they are!!!

Also, if you are coming out and have done absolutely no research when you come to get the calf and cannot tell me the necessities of a calf or ask if it still needs milk at 5 days olf you will not be getting a calf! Please do your research!! I am all for everyone getting their first-time calves but research it and make sure it is something you can fully commit to. It’s a lot of early mornings and religious feeding times!

These babies will be in Lindsborg Kansas Call or text Emma at 785-294-1702.
