The City of Russell is seeking a professional and community orientated individual for the position of a Seasonal Swimming Pool Manager.

This position will be responsible for but not limited to enforcing policies and procedures, which ensure efficient and effective operation of the pool facilities, including personnel management and training.  This employee will be responsible for all swimming pool operations, including first aid, guard rotations, scheduling of employees, public relations, janitorial duties, limited pool maintenance, including daily chemical analysis and testing, pool cleaning, cleaning of concession, and public areas.  This employee should possess excellent organizational skills, as well as strong communication and public relation skills and be self-motivated.  Other duties include monitoring and collecting fees as well as maintaining the pool and bathhouse areas.  This is a working supervisory position, requires working weekends and holidays for a 40- hour work week.  The pool season runs from Memorial Day weekend through the second weekend in August.

Applicant must be 18 years of age or older, possess a high school diploma or G.E.D., and have current, or must obtain, American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification, CPR and First Aid Certification, and obtain a Commercial Pool Operator Certification before the pool opening. Two years of pool management experience is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Applicants must reside within Russell County.
