Description

This little guy is really cute, sweet and very friendly! It is apparent he once had someone who loved him very much!

He appeared homeless & searching for a home in Ellinwood KS.

I am not able to offer him a forever home as my inn is full with 4 of my own. He needs his owner, or a new forever family. Someone to give him the love and companionship he so deserves! He would make someone a wonderful companion cat and great family pet. He is very sweet!

I am currently providing temporary shelter in my bathroom, separate from my 4 cats (not an ideal living arrangement for this sweet little guy--but safer than the streets where he could get hit & crippled or killed by a car, mauled by a dog, or challenged to a cat fight while awaiting a good home). He doesn't deserve to be living on the streets.

He is young, probably born two or three seasons ago. He was a Tom when he first showed up but I had him neutered since I was unable to locate his owner & figured that would make it easier to find him a good new home.

I named him "Lennie" for the vet visit and he has taken to that name fine. We mostly call him "Little Lennie".

During the vet visit he received his Feline Leukemia Booster, FVRCP Calicivirus Booster, & his Rabies Booster.

He tested negative for Feline Leukemia & negative for Heartworms.

He tested positive for exposure to FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). It is passed by a deep bite from an infected cat to cat. FIV is a cat virus and only affects cats, not humans or other animals.

According to vbspca on the net :

"Being FIV-positive means that the cat has antibodies that have been exposed to the virus, although it can take years, if ever, before the cat developes any FIV clinical signs."

He needs to be only cat and an inside cat so he can avoid cat diseases from cats in the wild to help keep him a healthy cat, and so there's no chance for a cat fight in which a deep bite could possibly pass on exposure between cats.

He uses a litter box fine, and I applied flea medicine. He probably was an indoor cat before becoming lost. I've taken him on walks in our yard on a leash to give him breaks from our bathroom and he walks very well on it (except near dogs or traffic), and he took to it quickly, he's a smart little guy.

If you know who may have lost him or if you would like to adopt a really sweet cat and can offer him a loving forever home please contact me, and please include a short summary of the type of home you would intend to provide him.

Person wishing to adopt should have the means to pick him up & provide him a loving forever home. I may be able to meet person part way.

Thank you so much.
