What to Expect
We are looking to hire a skilled CNC programmer. As a CNC programmer, you will be responsible for producing computer numerically controlled programs for precision CNC Mills, 5-Axis Mills or other various CNC machinery.
To ensure success as a CNC Programmer, you should have extensive experience working in manufacturing, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work unsupervised. Ultimately, a top-class CNC programmer works quickly and efficiently, ensuring all products meet the specifications of the client.
CNC Programmer Responsibilities:
- Generates and/or writes programs for multiple-axis programmed machines as required and has the ability to convert programs to operate on several different machines.
- Maintains existing CNC programs and documentation to the current revision levels.
- Understands and appropriately uses GibbsCam software or similar CAM software.
- Ability to program CNC mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points, setting tool registers, offsets, compensation and conditional switches.
- Identify and implement programming improvements that focus on increased machine utilization with focus on increased output, quality, waste reduction and reducing idle time.
- Ability to identify, understand, and use blueprints from CAD or other miscellaneous drawings from customers for programming and production purposes.
- Understands and appropriately uses SolidWorks software.
- Uses ASME 14.5 dimension and geometric tolerance standards to generate proper NC program code.
- Troubleshoots machine operation and NC programs to remedy potential and existing problems.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-5 years of CNC Programming/CNC Machining is required
- High School diploma or GED
- Experience with GibbsCam, CAD/Solidworks or similar CAM experience with ability to learn.
- Proficient in blueprint reading
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Ability to operate CNC Mills, 5-Axis Mills or other various CNC machinery.
- Ability to read and use measurement and inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauge pins, bore gauges, optical comparator, etc.
- Positive energy and attitude, with a passion for machining

- Ability to work efficiently and effectively both independently and as a team with minimal supervision

- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
Schedule
6:00am – 4:30pm Monday to Thursday with 3-day weekends!
Remote work would be considered for qualified candidates.
Compensation and Benefits:
Starting range for this position is $20.00/hour - $30.00/hour. Pay is negotiable and based on applicant’s education and/or work experience. Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at Natoma Manufacturing.
