Purchasing / Receiving / Inventory Office Secretary - Hays High School
Schedule: This is a 12 month position working 8hrs/day and 241 days per year.
$12.06/hr

Job Description
Purpose: To provide administrative support to high school administration and faculty.
Responsible to: Hays High School Building Administrators
Qualifications/Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalency.
Experience preferred.
Serve as a role model for high school students.
Communicate with students, staff, and public in a helpful, positive, and patient manner.
Knowledge of computer usage and software.
Ability to learn computer software with ease.
Accurate in working with all data, including numbers.
Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of job.
Organized, self-directed worker, cooperative, dependable, exemplary attendance at work.
Courteous, helpful, and willing to be flexible in job duties.
Ability to adjust and adapt to new situations.
Communicate clearly and work collaboratively with staff and community.
Essential Job Functions:
Maintain delivery and shipping logs for HHS. Distribute packages as directed.
Manage requisition/purchase orders for HHS.
Maintain financial information on HHS budgets.
Purchase order payment authorization for HHS purchasing.
Maintain fixed assets accounting for HHS. Inventory all new equipment and forward all requested reports to district office.
Assist HHS Tech personnel in technology device inventory.
Maintain music instruments inventory and communicate with district faculty on instrument status, transfers, or disposals.
Prepare and forward records involving thefts, vandalism or damage for high school assets and property to the district office.
Manage surplus property transfer or disposal in accordance with USD 489 Board of Education policy.
Order and maintain office supplies and copy paper.
Marginal Job Functions:
Assist with student attendance duties.
Cross-train with other high school clerical staff.
Perform other general office duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Secretarial staff should be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds.
Must be able to have lengthy computer posture and sit at a workstation most of an eight hour workday.
Must have manual dexterity for consistent and accurate computer input.
Must be capable of dealing with a consistent high level of activity with numerous interruptions.
Other:
The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the district.
The employee shall not smoke on school grounds or in district vehicles at any time.
The employee shall serve as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, intelligent human beings.
