Description

Here is a Rare early 1970,s Tama Imperialstar Set that consists of (2) 14 x 26 Bass Drums, 6 x 10 / 8 x 12 / 9 x 13 / 10 x 14 / 12 x 15 & 14 x 16 Concert Toms with their Original Stands, 16 x 16 & 16 x 18 Floor Toms as well as a Tama No.8006 Imperialstar 6.5 x 14 King Beat Snare Drum. Included are Anvil &Custom Built Fiber Cases for all the drums except the Snare.

There are a number of things that make these rare. First, they’re just now seeing the light of day after being in storage for over 30 years. Second, the Hardware and Hoops don’t show any visible signs of rust or pitting that you would expect to see. Third, I’ve never seen any other Tama 14 x 26” Bass Drums from this era that didn’t have Tom Mounting Hardware attached to them.(probably custom ordered). All the shells are made from 9 ply Luan Mahogany and Zola coated on the interiors, NOT the cheap Poplar wood Tama is making them out of nowadays. The drums themselves are in extremely great shape for being 50 years old. All are wrapped in Gold Metallic, which is a really difficult color to find for that period, which looks as bright as the day it was put on with no apparent fading. All that said, the only down side is the wrap didn’t fare so well in storage as can be seen in the pictures. You can either re-wrapped or refinished or leave as is. Either way this is a great hard to find set. Additional pictures are available. Pick up Only

PS, I've had several people reach out and say they would have bought these if it wasn't for the wrap cracking. My response is: Depending on where you live there are A LOT of people that will re-wrap these for you for a reasonable fee in whatever color and design you want. These are GREAT drums (with cases and hardware) priced to have them re-wrapped (if you want to) and have an amazing kit that you wouldn't be available to afford otherwise.
