Get beef for your freezer before Memorial Day weekend!  I've got 4 head of home-raised Red Angus cross heifers that will be going to Krehbiels in McPherson at the end of April.  They've been on Ellsworth Coop feed since November 1st.  These cattle have not been given growth hormones or antibiotics.  I've been finishing cattle for 15 years now and our heifers typically grade in the upper 2/3 of Choice every year. 

-Split-side (or quarter) will typically get you about 100-125# of meat (4 cu. ft. freezer space)

-66% of meat will be hamburger, 16% steaks, 16% roasts and brisket

-Price paid to us is $2.90 per carcass pound (will be about $500-$600 per split-side)

-You will pay Krehbiels for processing also

-Total cost will be about $5.75 - $6.25 per pound depending on how fancy you process it

-Order by April 15th, Pay by end of April, Pick up first week in May
