NOW HIRING: SEASONAL POOL LIFEGUARDS

City of Russell, Kansas

The City of Russell is seeking professional, community-oriented, and safety-conscious individuals for the position of Seasonal Pool Lifeguards for the upcoming summer season! 

About the Role:
Join our team to ensure the safety of facility patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies at the City swimming pool. Responsibilities include monitoring assigned recreational areas to detect hazards or safety infractions, enforcing all City of Russell pool policies, assisting in cleaning the facility, and performing maintenance on pool equipment. 

Season Details:

• Season: Memorial Day weekend through mid-August.
• Schedule: Days of the week will vary, including weekends and holidays.
• Hours: Includes regular, pre-opening, and post-closing hours for daily operations, programs, and pool parties.
• Lifeguards are needed for the entire pool season. 

Requirements:

• Must be at least 15 years of age or older.
• Must possess or be able to obtain American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification, along with CPR and First Aid Certification.
• Ability to work outdoors in high temperatures and tolerate outdoor weather conditions.
• Ability to sit on a lifeguard tower for extended periods.
• Ability to perform physical lifeguarding activities, including swimmer rescues.
• Ability to lift empty containers up to 50 lbs. (up to 4-foot height) and, with assistance, lift/move heavy objects up to 80 lbs.
• Ability to climb steps or ladders, and move quickly, stand, walk, reach, bend, stoop, or squat.
