Norton County Hospital has a full-time career opportunity for the Specialty Clinic Coordinator. Applications and resumes are due by May 27th.
The Specialty Clinic Coordinator facilitates the Specialty Clinics with visiting Providers/Specialists and is responsible for coordinating and supervising staffing for Specialty Clinics. The Specialty Clinic Manager is also responsible for overseeing the outpatient infusion and wound care department. This positin is full time Monday through Friday. Requires Registered Nursing degree from an accredited college or university and current Kansas licensure.
Major Duties:
- Schedules, assigns, and supervises staffing for Specialty Clinics.
- Communicates and coordinates with visiting Specialists and their offices.
- Evaluates the activities of clinics, patient care, and staffing to best meet the needs of patients and visiting providers.
- Develops and implements Specialty Clinic policies.
- Evaluates and ensures that the goals and objectives for the Specialist Clinics are being met.
- Enforces Hospital policies.
- Develops and monitors the Specialty Clinic budget.
- Directs the preparation of patient records for Specialty Clinics.
- Orders and/or directs the ordering of clinic supplies and drugs.
- Provides staff to assist the nuclear medication services.
- Prior Authorizations
- Researches and reaches out to specialty providers to establish new lines of service in coordination with CNO.
- Ensures patient charts are updated with any medication changes, procedure/lab orders, etc. after clinic visit.
- Enters patient charges such as room fees, tech fees, and professional fees.
- Verifies the processing of all patient orders after clinic.
- Orders necessary medications/prescription from pharmacy.
- Coordinate patient care with other ancillary departments.
Personnel Management and Development Duties:
- Recruits, hires, orients, oversees, evaluates and, if necessary, disciplines or terminates staff within the guidelines of the Hospital policies.
- Reviews and approves time sheets.
- Reviews and authorizes time-off requests.
- Creates, initiates and evaluates improvements to better utilize department personnel and resources.
- Actively seeking to gain new specialties for the community by communicating with regional facilities and promoting the benefits of partnering with NCH.
