Description

Up for grabs is my 1984 Ford Mustang T-top hatchback — a purpose-built drag car project that’s been my labor of love for the past 5 years. Life’s shifting gears, and it’s time to pass this one on to someone who can finish what I started. It has a clean, clear Kansas title in my name.

I bought this car as a bare rolling shell and have built it into a mostly functional hot rod. It’s not finished, but it’s packed with quality parts and potential.

What’s in the Car:
Small Block Ford crate engine from Blueprint Engines (purchased Dec 2017)
C4 transmission with new shifter, cable, and pedestal
QA1 rear control arms, drag springs, and single adjustable shocks
Painless 21-circuit wiring harness (needs finishing touches)
10-gallon fuel cell with ½" fuel line to Holley 750 double pumper carb
Holley Blue fuel pump with black regulator and inline filter
Hooker long tube headers, MSD ignition (distributor, coil, 6AL box)
SFI balancer & flex plate, Powermaster SBF starter
Procar drag seats, sheet metal dash, switch panel
Grant steering wheel with quick disconnect
Line lock, driveshaft loop, electric water pump & fan
New windshield, smoked tail lights, new headlights & marker lenses
Un-raced Hoosier 26x8 slicks on rear with 24" front runners
New marine-grade battery with cables front to back & rear bumper disconnect
New door, T-top, and hatch seals
Flat black paint job completed Fall 2024
"Draggy" performance meter included

What Comes With It (Not Installed):
QA1 K-member with lower control arms
Scott Rod Fab rear firewall
Ford 9" rear end (from another car)
8.8 rear from a '95 Mustang GT (for 5-lug conversion)
Front 5-lug conversion parts: spindles, hubs, drilled/slotted rotors
Short block from a '91 Mustang (needs work)
Extra C4 transmission + FMX transmission (SBF)
BBK shorty headers, MSD cut-to-fit wires, Holley jet kit
O2 gauge, box of AN lines & fittings, adjustable AN wrenches
Misc. accessory brackets from 70s–90s serpentine setups
Temporary exhaust (doesn’t fit with current trans/crossmember setup)

Needs Work (It’s a Project):
Wiring needs final touches
Brakes need a better bleed
Steering column needs bolted to shaft
Two small rust holes in the floor pan

This car has taken up my garage and my time since 2019. I’ve put in countless hours, but I’ve become so much more than burned out on the whole hot rod/drag car idea.. this is a great start to a drag car or transition to another motorsport. Due to worsening health, I’m moving on to things I can do with my kids.

No payment plans, no gift cards.

If you show up with cash, you are probably going to leave with a car.
