The Medical Coder is responsible for carrying out professional Health Information responsibilities to the established standards and policies.

Qualifications:

• One to two years of experience in Health Information Management practices.
• Computer proficiency and word processing experience.
• Ability to operate office machines (scanners, copiers, etc.).
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
• Working knowledge of ICD-10-CM, PCS, and CPT coding.
• Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), coding certificate from an accredited institution, or currently enrolled in coding classes.
