Description

1973 F-100 4x4, xlt long bed fleet side project truck for sale in area code 67672. this is a LONG post to save time later, so bear with the same ol' "thousands invested, lost interest", project for sale post.  frame vin and firewall body tag match the clear title.

make an offer, I'm pretty flexible on the price, bring the cash and a trailer. it might get up on the trailer on its own, but if not i got a winch and we can get it loaded.

when i say new, I last seriously worked on it 2-5 years ago. sat in garage until last winter, been covered and under carport on jack stands on concrete since.

fe360, np435, married transfer case. everything i could find says it could be the original drive train. runs, transmission and transfer case seems to work in all gears(on jack stands). complete new stock style clutch, throw out bearing and flywheel. new engine and transmission mounts. replaced rear main seal, timing gears and chain, but otherwise internals on engine unknown condition. new harmonic balancer and bolt. has gauges and makeshift wiring under hood so motor can be run and monitored.

ALL fluids changed. engine oil pressure seems good and temps stayed safe after a long idling session, didn't seem to excessively smoke. manual choke 2bbl carb was "remanufactured" when i bought it, but not sure how good it is now after sitting, but have had it running (not driving) in last couple of months. new manual choke adapter and cable not installed. haven't really tuned or moved it much since putting it back together.

lifted, 2inch leveling rough country kit. front done properly with new coil springs, radius arm drop brackets, and track bar relocation bracket. new rear leaf springs (same part numbers as a light 3/4 ton) and sits really nice and level, no lifting blocks. new 17inch (5 total) Jegs rims. the center caps are in the back in a tote so they wouldn't get damaged. sits on some old 275/70/17 tires, but could easily go bigger.

old headers installed (painted with high temp paint), no exhaust. new aluminum radiator with fans and water pump and thermostat. new points-less distributor with coil, plugs, wires. new power steering pump and newer style red head steering gear (may need bled again by now) with a threaded adapter plate welded on outside of frame and drop arm for the lift. just by eyeball the geometry looks pretty good. all front and rear wheel bearings replaced, new seals (been sitting on jack stands). axle shafts replaced for wear on seal mating surfaces. new manual lockout hubs. new custom & balanced 2 piece rear drive line with new carrier bearing. new one wire alternator with underslung adapter. new fuel tank, fuel pump, sender. new mini high torque starter and new flywheel.

could use new power steering hoses. new brake booster and master cylinder (may need bled after sitting so long), new wheel cylinders and hardware in all 4 (drum) brakes, many of the brake lines, shoes, and i think i replaced 3 or 4 of the drums. new ebrake cables on rear attached in drums, need some rigging to make work rest of way to the cab. have the ebrake mechanism cleaned up and painted but not installed.  new speedo cable. various colored transmission adapters for varied ratio and new reverse light solenoid in transmission.

new inner & outer aftermarket front fenders, new rad support, new cheap front bumper. have headlight buckets painted but not installed. hood pretty good shape, couple small dings no rust. new body/bed mounts and bolts. frame seems good, only surface rust, some damage right in back near some homemade receiver hitch still on it, no rear bumper. Cab is rust free, (can see original body seams) even the cab mounts, but has some damage on back corners where the bed must have hit it and roof is oil canning and warped, looks like someone must have sat on it or something at one point, and has a hole in middle from antennae mount. Front and rear glass were broken when i got it, and removed to start some primer/painting but never completed. Cab is completely stripped of interior, but steering, pedals and shifter installed so it "should" be movable under its own power. drivers door mounted, passenger door just strapped in place, haven't got around to re-attaching it. originally intended to replace both door shells and recycle the hardware. both doors damaged from multiple mirror holes, and along the window opening, but windows roll up and down and are intact and not rusted, door handles work, have keys for locks, etc.

wiring was completely damaged, dried out and rotten, so there is a new generic wiring harness in a box never installed with the fuse panel and labels along the wires for each circuit. many, many new parts installed, and everything i took off are in labeled zip lock bags in plastic totes in the bed. bed pretty rust free but small dings along sides and has some holes inside where maybe a fuel tank or something was installed. has provisions in bedside for dual fuel tanks so i am positive its not the original bed. one rear corner was damaged around the tail light opening with a crappy bondo and paint repair. tailgate isn't bad, needs the plastic clips, one broke off the rod to the handle and needs new bushings. dent around the handle opening, should be repairable.

i wont part it out at this time.

phew.
