I know it is long, but please read everything as it answers pretty much all the questions I get asked regularly.
If you are into obscure guns, unique pieces of history, or a modern colt collector, this is the rifle for you! This is not a normal le901. It is 1 of 5 rifles that were ordered from colt custom by San Bernadino SWAT as their DMR platform. All 5 were retired and put into surplus market a few years ago. Colt did a few things to these rifles specifically for SB SWAT. Such as milling off the front sight to make it a better host for optics, and adding the gen 1 magpul prs stock. For those that don't know, the LE901 is a monolithic 308 caliber semi-auto rifle that was part of Colt's Modular Rifle program that was built to compete for the SCAR contract. The LE901 has the ability to change between calibers with a conversion kit that allows you to pin a milspec ar15 upper on the unique ar10 size lower. This means that with one lower you can switch between AR10 calibers and AR15 calibers, it is really neat. The lowers are also ambi. To top it all off, this specific rifle was also featured in a video by Forgotten Weapons. (If you have not seen it yet, the video is online to watch) While they were using it for the video, I had the Forgotten Weapons team autograph the magazine I sent with the rifle. It will come with the mag autographed by the Forgotten Weapons team, 2 extra mags (3 mags total), and the caliber conversion kit. I absolutely hate to sell it, because it will literally never be able to be replaced. This is a grail gun for most Colt collectors. But, times are tight so I need to move it. It is difficult to set a value, however one of the other 4 rifles sold for just over $6000 on Gunbroker last year, and another that was featured in the Vickers guide sold for $6500. I am asking $6500 or best offer. Not really interested in trades unless there is a large amount of cash with it. More photos available on request. Located in Wichita, Kansas.
