Position: Full-Time Custodian / Janitor (Afternoon/Evening Shift)
District: Stockton USD #271
Location: Stockton, Kansas
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Employment Status: Full-Time, Year-Round
Position Summary
Stockton USD #271 is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Full-Time Custodian/Janitor to work the afternoon shift from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The successful candidate will help maintain clean, safe, and well-functioning school facilities that support a positive learning environment for students and staff.
Primary Responsibilities
Clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas
Perform daily and routine custodial duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and trash removal
Maintain building security during assigned shift
Set up and take down rooms for school events and activities as needed
Assist with minor maintenance and report repair needs to administration
Safely operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning chemicals according to guidelines
Follow district safety procedures and health regulations
Work cooperatively with other custodial staff and administration
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous custodial or maintenance experience preferred (training provided)
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Ability to pass a background check
