We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing / Long-Term Care to lead our nursing team and oversee the delivery of exceptional resident care within our long-term care facility. This pivotal role combines strategic leadership with hands-on management to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, promote high-quality nursing practices, and foster a compassionate environment for residents. The ideal candidate will possess extensive nursing administration experience, a strong understanding of assisted living, nursing home operations, and related healthcare services such as hospice care and acute care. Your leadership will drive excellence in resident care, staff development, and operational efficiency.

Position Overview

Responsible for the direction of resident care in the Long-Term Care setting. Manages licensed clinical personnel. Consult with staff, physicians, and the management team on nursing problems and the interpretation of facility policies to ensure resident needs are met. Develop performance improvement activities for LTC. Assists in formulating the budget. Assures an atmosphere of teamwork. Places priority on residents and families.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Plans, implements, and controls the annual budget for LTC.

· Responsible for LTC decision-making and policy formulation.

· Assures staff the ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Assures appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the resident and family regarding pain management. Document how completed.

· Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.

· Coordinates and directs resident care and education by monitoring care plans and assisting licensed nurses to improve the quality of care rendered.

· Oversees the assessment of all residents and the completion and updating of the Minimum Data Sets and care plans. Demonstrates knowledge of MDS.

· Supervises long-term care staff in their daily work.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

· Adult Care Home Operator Certificate required or ability to obtain in 6 months.

· Current Registered Nurse Licensure in the State of Kansas, BSN preferred.

· Current BLS Certification

· Ability to read and communicate effectively, with strong written and verbal skills.

· Intermediate computer knowledge with the ability to learn systems used.
