Ruby has been a broodmare for quite a while. She knows her job as a mom and does it well. She lets you handle them as soon as they touch the ground. She will foal out on her own with no issues. Always seems to outproduce herself. She leads, loads in a trailer, stands for the farrier, stands in stocks to be ultrasound, easy for vet care. We gave her the year off thinking she would enjoy it and she definitely has not. This is one that likes raising babies. She is cycling and ready to breed.
Her cons, she can be a hard keeper come fall and winter. She does plump back up come spring, but needs extra help when it gets cold. She can also be hard to catch from time to time. Some days she is your best friends and will let you, other days she decides she isnt wearing a halter. Usually a grain bucket cures that and she will give in.
I have a breeding to Ultimately Lazy (blue roan) for her this year. A picture of him is attached. The breeding can be transferred over, you would only have to pay the shipping to get the dose. Must be used by July of this year, however.
