Description

early-production WWII German M40 Stahlhelm combat shell. This piece is a textbook example from the first year of M40 production, showing honest field wear and remarkable "salty" character.

​Historical & Technical Specifications:

  • Manufacturer: ET (Eisenhüttenwerke Thale).
  • Shell Size: 64 (Standard combat size).
  • Lot Number: 406 – Clearly stamped on the rear skirt. This low number indicates early 1940 production, making this one of the first M40s off the line at the Thale factory.
  • Liner Frame: Includes the original M31 reinforced aluminum/zinc liner band. The band is secure and shows period-correct patina l

Does have post WWII paint on it ....Removed paint some of the paint to check for decals. Goof off paint remover ...removes only post World War II paint and keeps the original finish

This helmet was found in old German couples garden on a post in White City.
