The Kansas Department of Transportation is seeking a detail-oriented professional to play a key role in supporting the administrative and financial functions that keep transportation services running efficiently across Northwest Kansas. 

KDOT is currently hiring a Senior Administrative Assistant for the District Three Office in Norton, Kansas.

Job responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Review and process District utility and Shop invoices and prepare vouchers to process payments.
  • Compile data and prepare employee reimbursement reports. Review payments for compliance with Department of Administration and KDOT travel regulations, allowances, coding, reduction rates, mileage rates, distance charts, and mathematical accuracy.
  • Prepare District credit card vouchers weekly and track incoming receipts.
  • Maintain records and files for the fiscal department and file original paperwork accordingly.
  • Process and track all incoming checks and tracking through final approvals. 
  • Make travel and lodging arrangements for the District complex.
  • Responsible for all noxious weed spraying contracts for the District, following process instructions.
  • Perform varied and numerous related administrative duties in connection with the operation of the District Three HQ Office.

Compensation:

  • Annual Salary Range:  $34,444.80 - $35,214.40
  • Hourly Pay Range:  $16.56 - $16.93

Minimum Qualifications:

  • One year of experience in general office, clerical or administrative support work. 
  • Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency. Transcripts are required for education to be considered.
  • Valid Driver’s License at time of appointment. 

Post-Offer/Pre-Employment Requirements:
