2004 Ditchwitch FX60 Hydrovac Excavator mounted on 2003 Sterling A9500 tandem straight truck. This unit is very profitable for safely locating and working around underground utilities. Very capable unit, we used it for Sewer and H2O service installs, and septic system repairs and modification. (never for pumping septic tanks) Unit is operated by its own Cummins 3.9 engine. We went through the unit; every thing works well. 1200 gal. Spoils tank has been gone thru and had HD marine epoxy coating for rust prevention. Unit cuts and vacs very well. Hydrovac unit shows 1154 hrs. (given age, I doubt that is accurate, hour meter does work) Truck is powered by Cummins ISM engine, Allison 6spd trans. Starts, Runs and drives well, steering is a little loose. Transmission shift strong and smooth Cab is like most sterlings; dash has some cracks, Heat and ac blow weak. Truck has 646,344 miles. Minimal blowby on both engines.
