Description

Fall delivery of February 1 calving heifers

Fancy group of 73 head of black and black-baldie, and 2 red-baldie heifers with Gardiner Angus, McCurry Angus, and Oleen Brothers Hereford genetics behind them. Very gentle girls that have been gathered with a horse, side-by-side, or feed truck. Easily handled on foot and the kind to see to appreciate.

Worked early spring with MLV and 7-way. Revaccinated April 1 with Pyramid 10 HB, pinkeye, along with Synanthic drench wormer and pour-on. Pelvic measured and OCV by the local vet.

Bred to LBW Downey Ranch Angus bulls turned out on April 24 for 75 days to start calving February 1, 2027. These three black bulls have double digit CED (11 – 11 – 12) for ease of calving.

Heifers are currently grazing native Bluestem range with 10-15% fescue on the edges and are supplemented with corn/DDG mix twice weekly to count and fly spray. On free-choice breeder mineral with a combination of Availa 4 and Intellibond trace minerals, IGR fly control, and CTC.

These big-bodied heifers weigh 850-950 lbs now (5/31) and should easily weigh 1000-1100 lbs by fall delivery. We will have them pregnancy checked by local vet in mid-October and will be given your choice of pre-calving vaccines. Breds will be available November 1-5, 2026, with the option to keep until January 1-5, 2027, at your cost.
