The Northwest Museum Coalition is thrilled to introduce the project “Piecing Together Our Past – Celebrating America’s 250th Birthday.” Each participating museum will showcase a founding father from their respective community or county, and visitors will need to locate this special exhibit.

Upon finding the display, participants will receive a puzzle piece and a puzzle board. By visiting all 14 museums, you can complete the puzzle and enter a drawing for a grand prize! This program is free, suitable for all ages, and runs from May 1 through December 31, 2026.

The list of participating museums includes:

Cheyenne County Museum – St. Francis; Tri-State Antique Engine & Thresher Association, Bird City; Decatur County Museum, Oberlin; Grinnell-Angelus Area Heritage Center, Grinnell; Gove County Museum, Gove; Fick Fossil Museum, Oakley; Herndon Community Museum, Herndon; Rawlins County Historical Society & Museum,  Atwood; Sheridan County Historical Society & Mickey’s Museum,  Hoxie; High Plains Museum, Goodland; Kanorado Community Museum, Kanorado;  Prairie Museum of Art & History, Colby;  Trego County Museum,  WaKeeney; and Fort Wallace Museum,  Wallace.
